There are 4 main fields that we address when assessing your home or office.  They are electric, magnetic, radiofrequency or microwave radiation,  and Dirty Electricity.  Depending on time and level of interest, we may also discuss static electric fields and test for magnetized metals in sleeping areas and/or home office furniture.  A Geiger counter may also be used to test background radiation levels as well as testing antique glass, glazes, granite and other items for radioactivity.  All of these fields have been shown to disrupt our body's natural biological balance.

Electric fields occur when there is "voltage" present, e.g. when a lamp is plugged in (the lamp does not have to be turned on for an electric field to occur)

Magnetic fieldsoccur when there is "current", e.g., when an appliance is operating.  Magnetic fields can also occur due to net current on plumbing systems, wiring errors and/or outside sources such as power lines.

Radiofrequency or microwave radiationoccurs primarily due to man-made transmitters such as cell phones & towers, routers, cordless phones, baby monitors, smart meters, wireless "toys" and a myriad of new wireless devices that are now prevalent in many homes.

Dirty Electricty  (DE)  is characterized by harmonics or voltage spikes that turn an ordinary 60 Hz sine wave into a variation of 60 Hz such as 120 or 180 Hz, etc.  These harmonic frequencies are particularly bothersome to many and harmful to our health, especially the nervous system and to those with EHS or compromised immune systems.

What the Studies tell us....

Magnetic fields were classified as a Class 2B possible carcinogen in 2002.  In 2011, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified radiofrequency as this same Class 2B possible carcinogen.  Other examples of Class 2B carcinogens are lead, DDT, asbestos and chloroform.

More and more evidence is being presented that EMF's can cause harmful biological effects.  The most recent and comprehensive study is the BioInitiative Report of 2012.  The BioInitiative 2012 Report has been prepared by 29 authors from ten countries, ten holding medical degrees (MDs), 21 PhDs, and three MsC, MA or MPHs. This comprehensive study found that bioeffects are clearly established to occur with very low exposure levels (non-thermal levels) to electromagnetic fields and radiofrequency radiation exposures.
